Sailing Information
The club was formed in 1927 racing 16ft Skiffs, which it has continuously raced. It was not until after the building of our present clubhouse in 1964 that we became recognised as one of the top Sailing Clubs in NSW and certainly one of the leaders and the biggest 16ft Sailing Club in Australia. The club has won numerous State, National and World Championships in various classes of sailing craft.
Whilst 16ft Skiffs are our senior class we pride ourselves as a family club and race classes of boat to suit all ages for boys and girls.
Our basic training boats for our Learn to Sail classes are "Sabots", for age group 6-16 years. The training course is run twice per year, one before Christmas and one after Christmas. Each course runs for 10 weeks on Sunday mornings from 9.00am-11.00am, under the instructions of trained sailing instructors. A course fee applies. For information on the upcoming sailing courses, click here.
After this training the children may either purchase or crew in the following classes of boats sailed at our club:

All of these classes of boats are popular and very competitive. All together we race approximately 100 boats each weekend.
The prime object of the club is to promote sailing. We believe that we perform this function as well as any other sailing club and at a limited cost to the sailor. If you wish to get yourself or your family involved in sailing then ask our management to introduce you to a member of our sailing committee or one of our Board of Directors.
We are very safety minded. Each race is patrolled by well maintained pick up craft manned by experienced crews plus numerous safety items incorporated in the sailing rules.
